Default Quick Mits DLP question

I'm looking into getting myself a new Mits DLP and I was curious if they have color wheels or if its the LCD chips that they use?

Um...I'm going to say DLP. LCD is LCD, and DLP is DLP. A DLP set will have the color wheel, while LCD sets have the LCD panels. I don't think it is possible for a set to have both.

My thought for them some of them have color wheels as where others have the 3 LCD. My sony projection is 3 LCD.

Right. The 3 LCD is LCD technology. The wheel is DLP technology. You can get a DLP set / projector or you can get an LCD set / projector, but they are completely different technologies.

Edit: Please read THIS thread (post 1) about the different technologies, pros and cons of each, etc. I realize it is talking about projectors rather than TV sets, but the technology that drives it is the same concept.

The Mitsubishi uses the Color Wheel system with their DPL sets.

Some Samsung DLP's used LED lights and did away with the color wheels, but they quit producing DLP sets last year. They were a great product, but the marketplace wanted Thinner and thinner panel type TV's.
