Default Friday the 13th re-make - Good news!

This sounds promissing... even though I'm VERY sceptical to re-makes of movies I love:

FRIDAY THE 13TH remake: The film is not even out yet that there is already talk about the DVD release. Co-producer Andrew Form of Platinum Dunes shed some light what fans can expect. "There will be an extended, unrated cut of the movie that's ten minutes longer," he says, "a couple of deleted scenes and a couple of alternate scenes. There will be an alternate ending as well."

Brad Fuller, Form and director Marcus Nispel crammed all the gore and boobs they could possibly get past the MPAA, but they promise plenty of leftovers for the DVD and Blu-ray. “[It will have] all the stuff wouldn’t have gotten past the MPAA,” Andrew Form says with a laugh.

Good news, I will pick this up when its released hopefully its not held over to Halloween. But if it is, maybe that will give them time to put together the rest of the jason movies and maybe we might get freddy vs. jason. Maybe we will get the freddy movies as well at Halloween

Why not? I didnt find amusing any of the parts after the original, but still found them campy and entertaining enough to have a good laugh. Im sure this new one will be such a rip off and predicatble I will have a few more laughs.

I agree 100%. These movies must be taken for the campy nature. A good laugh indeed will be had by me as well !

I absolutely LOVE the series, but lets face it, they aren't masterpieces, and I just know people are going to complain about the remake forever, when it's going to live up to exactly what the originals were. Gore, cheese, and nudity. As long as it delivers in those areas, I will be pleased.

Ive thought about going to see it since I enjoyed the Texas Chainsaw remakes and the Halloween remake as well.

Plus the longer teaser trailer for Transformers 2 will be showing with it!

I'll probably see it, but my expectations are waaaay low.

If they wouldn't have marketed and hyped it as a remake I'd probably not feel so negative though... This is more of a 're-imagining' or 'inspired by.'

Of course this will get rid of the old "how the hell did he age" question, though.

There's a difference between crappy and cheesy gory goodness!

I found Exorcist: The Beggining and the prequels of Texas Chainsaw Massacre crappy horror... but there's never enough Jason to have a good laugh at what cheesy and good gore is all about..
The Saw movies wish their characters were as popular as Jason is!
