Default how do i connect my powered sub?

Hey guys, so im still saving up for an upgrade so i will be using my old equipments to get the best out of my movies. OK so i have a very old JVC powered sub, the model is ASW10-120 and i want to know how to connect it to my non HDMI receiver which is Pioneer VSX-D5095. For my blu ray player, i have Sony BDP-S550 so i am using the analog to my receiver to get HD sound. Now the issue is that i have no idea how to connect a powered sub...I see in the back High Level Inputs and Low Level Inputs(red and white plug ins and it says mono). Can anyone help me figure out how to connect this? Also, how do you bi-amp? do i need another equipment? thanks!

Default How to connect a powered sub

If your receiver has a sub out, connect an rca cable from the sub out on the receiver to the sub. The receiver may also say low frequency out. You may need to use a Y adapter on the sub to connect it -- one output on the receiver to two inputs on the sub.

If your receiver does not have a sub out or low frequency out (not likely if it is made within the past 5 years) you will need to use the high powered inputs. In this case, you would run the Front Left and Right speaker wires from the receiver to the high powered inputs on the sub. You would then connect your front speakers to the high powered outputs on the sub.

Then adjust the volume and crossover to your liking.

Enjoy!

Buy an RG6 subwoofer cable and a Y adapter (2 male, 1 female). Connect one end of the sub cable to the sub out on the back of the receiver. Connect the other end of the sub cable to the female side of the Y adapter and insert the male sides to the left and right (red and white) inputs on the back of the subwoofer. Adjust the level of the subwoofer so that your bass sound matches your other speakers. Since your Blu-ray player is connected to the receiver with analog cables, you need to do bass management inside the player.

If you use high powered inputs as Deram stated, make sure you set the front speakers to LARGE and subwoofer to NO.
