Dragon Tiger Gate - Blu-ray Forum

Wow. This was a blind buy for me which I don't do often. But the premise and the review on here, plus a cheap price on Amazon made me say "what the heck?"

I was not dissapointed. This was a fun movie. Now I don't know anything about the comic it's based off of so I couldn't notice any changes they may have made. And I feel I didn't know the characters and thier relationships with each other as well as I would if I read the comics. But still it was a lot of fun to watch.

Great fights, a decent story, and good acting. Plus the PQ!! Wow.

I base PQ on the first 5 mins. If it makes me go "holy crap thats so crisp" then it is normally an amazing Blu. This got me in the first 60 secs. The quality was just top notch. As far as I'm concerned Iron Man, Wall-E, The Untouchables and now Dragon Tiger Gate are the movies I'll throw in to show off High Def to those that don't know. I was impressed throughout the entire movie with the Blu quality. There was grain but I only noticed it in a few scenes otherwise I couldn't even tell.

Some of the FX at the end looked less than stellar but the other 85% of the FX were good.

Anyone else see/have this movie? I'd love some other opinions. But you won't change my mind I really enjoyed it and look forward to watching it many more times.

There are so many better hk martial arts movies. DTG is entertaining but it's not really a good movie. I have only seen the DVD though I am sure it is better on Blu

Watched last week, PQ is good. its good to have chinese audio and subitiles.

And I'm sure there are better movies, I'm looking forward to Hero/Iron Monkey/Legend of Drunken Master on Blu. And Crouching Tiger if I can get it seperate.

I'm just saying Dragon Tiger Gate is surprisingly good for what it is.

Plus great PQ.

HK bluray price are high and have to import from yesasia, hope HK blueray movies price drop soon, many of them are on my buying list.

HK blu-ray prices are typically between $25-$30. I don't think that's really too bad for imports.
