ANOTHER digital-exclusive extended cut?! God dammit. Anyway, I’m debating whether or not I want to pick this up. I enjoy the first, but found this an utter mess, and unless you’re pretty steeped in HP lore, it’ll probably confuse the hell out of you.

Same here. I have the Steelbook set aside for ISPU, but I'm thinking of cancelling it, even though the retailer exclusives are all but sold out within 25 miles of me.

I think I should just save my money for next week's exclusives, and hope for a Black Friday sale on the standard Blu-ray.

As discussed in the UHD thread, the UK is getting the extended on disc and Warner titles are region-free, so you can import if you like. We're assuming the extended is only on Blu-ray and not UHD though, so it seems rather pointless to me.

Unless you want to use a VPN to make a UK account and switch to it to watch the movie every time, yeah.

The streaming extended cut might be in 4k HDR for all we know, so the US version might be "better" in that case depending on your views of streaming 4k versus disc 2k. I dunno. I'll probably just default to the theatrical cut since it'll be the only one on UHD disc in all likelihood.

An extended cut won't be able to save this movie, but it's nice having it on disc. It's a shame Warner dropped the ball here with that. At least have it as a retailer exclusive.

I don't think I've ever seen Barnes & Noble get an exclusive before.

They've had a few over the years -- Cinema Paradiso, Jurassic World release, a few seasons of Game of Thrones

I’m a huge Potter fan and, while this film is disjointed, I still love the Wizarding World/characters/beasts/cinematography. I’m pissed the US isn’t getting the extended edition on disc... guess I’ll have to import 😞

It's not worth it, the extended is unwatchable. There are burned-in captions on every deleted scene.

Clearly not unwatchable then.

Don’t mind spoilers, but mind describing what is new/extended? Not sure about the captions 🤔

Also it supposedly barely adds anything of merit, and even changes the opening for the worse.

I don’t like the fact that the extended cut is only on the digital copy. Are they trying to sway people away from physical media?

In case you missed the discussion above, the UK version has it on its own disc:

Better looking cover too in my opinion

So went to Walmart at 10:30 this morning and they still haven't put out the new releases.

So went to Best Buy in the same mall and bought it there.

(On a related note, it's sad to see the shrunk down media section at Best Buy. I haven't been in this one in almost a year and now they are down to just two aisles of media. On one entire side is 4K.)
