Default Interesting Poll on CNET.com

CNET is performing a Poll about HDDVD/BR & DVD,

Which DVD format will rule your living room?

http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6463_7-...html?tag=prmo1

At this time,

24.87% people stating that Blu Ray will win their living room

15% say HDDVD will

6% are waiting for more hardware from both

and

53% are waiting for a winner to be decided and will stick with DVD until then.

Interesting results so far, especially considering how everyone claims HDDVD is "winning"

Most of that %53 are lying. Everyone thinks they'll have the gumption to wait it out but as soon as the players hit $299 and lower many will fall.

Everyone has a price.

Once my TV is purchased next year I'm feeding it with as much HD content as I can. Consumers love movies and when you get a new HDTV toy you have to purchase the accessories.

That poll doesn't really surprise me since we're strictly in early adopter phase and will be for years to come.

Those numbers reflect that the masses aren't really interested or even fully aware of what's going on yet.

What was the sample base/number of people for that poll?

Also, Cnet is a source that one must take with a grain of salt at times. I wouldn't hang my hat on them solely one way or the other.

Yup, only people who will buy a hidef DVD playback system in the short term are the guys who bought Laserdisc. It's all about the PS3.

agreed for the most part with jtk. at least most are saying they're waiting for a clear cut winner. however, i think this poll would be more accurate with a "no idea about either format" selection. that way we can differentiate between who knows what they're talking about, who is "in the game," and who is "on the sidelines."
