Question whats the problem

hello all i have a slight issue i hope i can get help with.

i have the kdl26m3000(sony), rocket fish hdmi cable 4ft, ps3 60gb.

now the problem is when i put in a BD the screen goes blank and i hear a popping sound. after the popping sound the input display shows up top left corner and says hdmi1.. then movie starts. this process takes about 5 secs. can anyone tell me whats going on

You using an HDMI switching box? Passive or Active?

HDMI switching receiver? What model?

no switch box, no receiver .. directly to tv. 4ft cable.

i kinda figured i would get alot of looks but few to none responses. maybe i need a 40" and up to get responses lol..

It sounds like your TV is either trying to switch resolutions or it interpreted the loading of the BD as no-signal and then went into screensaver mode or whatever. I used to have the same problem with my old TiVo box interpreting white as garbage signal.

if its trying to switch resolutions can that be fixed. my set is 1366x768. it accepts 1080i signal. would it be wise to set ps3 to output 720 only. if so will that give me a worse picture than what i got when a have ps3 set to output 1080i.

if its doin that bcuz it thinks the loading of the BD is no signal. then i guess thats what it is
