Default Appleseed: Ex Machina

Anyone else looking forward to the Appleseed sequel? The first one was clunky as hell, but this looks amazing. The trailer has bypassed me until recently, unfortunately they seem to have Seth Green as Briarios in the English dub, so I'll be giving THAT audio track a miss... I also see that the DVD has a two disc set announced, I hope that Warners won't pull a Universal and drop most of the extras for the BD.

I've pre-ordered from DVDPacific, the price seems to have dropped since I last looked. The equivelant of $4.00 seems to have dropped off this disc. Nice!

$16 at amazon a month ago? Man, I had my initial preorder about two months ago and it was $24. I just reordered it the other day with some more titles. Same price.

I'm so getting it though. It should look awesome!

So...would I need to have seen the first one to understand what this one's about? I guess I could always Netflix it.

The first one is excellent! You should rent or buy the first one to check it out. Great story...lots of action...great CGI.

I enjoyed the original Appleseed and own it on standard DVD. I've already placed my pre-order for Ex Machina as well. This should be an awesome Blu title for both picture and sound quality.

How do we confirm if this set is going to include a HD-DVD or Blu-Ray now?

I want to buy this set, but I want to make sure it's going to be Blu-Ray now. Do you think they'll change it now? Who can we contact to confirm?

Three years since the groundbreaking release of anime feature "Appleseed," John Woo, Masamune Shiro, and Shinji Aramaki unite to change cinema again with the follow-up "Ex Machina - Appleseed Saga" with English subtitles. The year, 2135. Half of humanity has been wiped out by conventional warfare, and a number of the injured have been converted into half-man, half-machine cyborgs. Deunan and Briareos are members of the E.S.W.A.T tactical special unit for the city of Olympus. Though his body has been mechanized after being mangled in the war, Briareos and the love he shares with Deunan remains unchanged. One day a bioroid who has the exact same features a Briareos named Tereus appears before them, changing their lives forever. Meanwhile, Olympus is enveloped in a string of mysterious terrorist attacks which threatens the plan to unite the peaceful city of Olympus with its satellites. Are Briareos and Deunan headed towards a time of world peace . . . or destruction? The premium edition of "Ex Machina - Applessed Saga" includes three bonus discs wiht unreleased footage, behind-the-ccenes footage, design stills from Masamune Shior's "Gravilence," design archive footage, staff and cast profiles, keyword guide, character introduction, the 105-minute US theatrical version of the film, and an HD DVD of the feature. Also includes two deluxe booklets with stills and pictures, postcard, and E.S.W.A.T sticker.

Might be a good idea, it looks like it (ex machina) has characters from the first movie. Great stuff! Anyone know if "Appleseed" is coming to blu-ray?

YAAAAHHH!!! YAAAAHHH!!! On to the next town

Since Geneon is pretty much defunct, not until their license expires (years) or someone buys it out from under them (more likely)
