If say Universal decides to use the HD DVD video encode to make the BD version, you can see a title within a month. If they want to do a fresh encode, it'll be two months or more.

I think right now Universal is figuring out how to port HDi features to Bonus View on some of their titles. The titles will come so long as they can find a replication slot and make their master on time.

Bill Hunt said earlier that most of Uni's HD DVD encodes simply won't cut it for Blu-ray, and so they will have to be encoded for BD, so I don't know if they'll be able to port over much, if any.

Well that's good to hear. Fresh encodes FTW!

For the newbies, HD DVD has a lower bandwidth and capacity than BD. While a direct port is possible and give you a good picture, a fresh encode with a great picture is desirable. So hang in there for Universal releases like the rest of us.
