Quick Question on Blu-ray players...

I own a PS3 for Blu-ray player. But, I am asking this question for a friend. I am not sure what Blu-ray player he has. But, I do know it's a SONY.

Someone he spoke to on the phone told him he'd never have to update it.

My question is, are these players also capable of the firmware updates?

the answer to your question is yes. i just had to update my sony because it would'nt play some blu-ray's.you can get the updates from sony's website or if your friend has a mac like i do he can call sony and they will mail you a firmware update.

I have the Sony S300 and I had about 4 or 5 updates since I got it, so far as I know all the players has to be firmware updated one time or the other.

Probably 99% can be, just check the manufacturer website...
