Default BLU-RAY or HD DVD on 720p/1080i TV?

i was wondering what people thought of this topic. i have a 720p lcd tv but i have the settings on 1080i cause I've tried both resolutions and 1080i is the better one and i have the hd a2 Toshiba HD DVD player as well as the Samsung BDP-1000. I WAS WONDERING if you guys would think that if the departed or superman returns (or a movie that's out for both blu-ray and HD DVD) would look better on Blu-ray or HD DVD since i have a 720p/1080i tv and not a 1080p tv. thanks alot

You'll have to read some reviews from several places. Check out www.hometheaterspot.com reviews, for starters.

For the two movies you mention they are supposed to look identical as it's the same video file for both.
