Default Good Cheap Car

I'm thinking about trading in my car and I'm trying to decide what car to get. Something cheap and good on gas. I've got an 08 Hyundai Tiburon. Hyundai's suck for trade in value. If i trade it in there's going to be atleast $5000 added to the other car. Hoping to pay less than the $450 a month I'm paying now.

I'm paying that because i got a 07 through the first time buyers program at $350 a month. When the new style of the 08s came out i went all out and got the one with the works which made it $450.

Right now I got the Honda Fit, Civic, and the Lancer on my mind.

Definately go with a Civic OR an Accord. In my area at least, Ive seen really nice 05 and 06 Accords for about $16,000, and they are the "high end" versions of civics

Thats less than what I paid for my 05 EX Cpe.

Depending on what financing you get, that could total less than your budget for monthly payments

Fits are SICK and they will be clearing out the 08 models so you can get a killer deal.

But you drove a Tiburon so I would recommend the 4 door Honda Si. That thing is nice. Plus it will get cheap insurance being a 4 door.

I'd love to have a new car but over here they are so damn expensive.
The crappiest car starts at 10.000 Euros (about 13.000 dollars)
and if you want something a tiny bit nice (nothing big, just small and cozy) prepare to shell out 15.000 Euros and even more. Add to that, the price of Gas that is almost twice what it is in America, and say bye bye to your new car (Unless you are loaded with money)

Fact,
but being an Insurance Agent I can tell you that Cpe/Sdn isnt always the deciding factor. Age plays a big role...as well as Territory code and useage of the vehicle...which generates the class code. I have a Cpe and my brother has a Saturn SDN and I pay less than he does. Both of our records are good

if you are looking for pretty good mpg with decent cargo room go with a fit, otherwise, can't say i would reccomend it.

civic's are all right, not keen on how the newer models look, actually prefer the older look.

so i guess the lancer.

also reccomend a camry though. ford taurus too. accord too, but you might pay a tad more than with a civic.

And you guys get raped on gas prices too. But then again you get alot of cars that don't make it to the states. I'd love a Clio Sport V6 or a Peugot. Sadly there is no market here for them.

The Honda Si is around 20 to 21k right? With $5k added to it i might be paying the same a month. Wouldn't pay more for gas though.

I had $5 added on to the Tiburon SE Limited i got. It went from 22/23k to 28k

right now i'm more worried about what i'm going to pay a month when i trade this car in. Those 3 cars seem decent. I could always go for a cheap Hyundai. They do knock 1k off since i have one.

You have to remember though that Dec. and Jan. are the best times to get last years models and they are deeply discounted. My wife's brother got his Civic DX 4 door for 9k and it was a 07 model he bought last Dec.

Plus it's the first time they made a 4 door Si for the US market. The only other Civic with that type of power was the Type-R's that came out a few years back.

My uncle was able to get a 07 Prius for 13k in Jan. of this year.

Darn, they are great for negotiating deals and even deliver the car to your work. When my brother bought his Accord he had already test driven a RSX that they brought to his work to try.

Go test drive the new Si. It's better this year than the previous model's hatchback styling. I never understood the stickshift being in the dash.

The old Toyota Matrix's had that. Don't know if they still do.

According to Kelly Blue Book, your car has a trade-in value of $15,000.

I estimated there's about 10,000 miles, assuming you got it early in the year, and entered in the zip code for Savannah, GA.

You need to trade it in for a car that's worth $8,000-$10,000, IMO.

I don't know too much about this stuff, because I paid cash for my $8,000 car. So I didn't take a loan out or anything.

I love, love, love my 07 Scion tC. Good gas mileage, very zippy and fun to drive, in the top 10 for both reliability and resale value, 9 air bags, all for under 20k.
