Default Lionsgate Rereleases

I was at Walmart today and I saw a version of The Punisher which didn't have the silver lining, but a more normal cover. I went online and saw that they also released Saw without the silver lining.

Does anyone know what other titles have recieved this treatment?

Off the top of my head, Crash did for sure. It's the same product, but with a different cover.

I believe the silver lining was the re - release, and not the colored version.

It does not matter without a re-release with lossless audio. I hope Lionsgate does this for Saw 1-3 and The Punisher.

Hmm, really? I hope they did the same for 3:10 to Yuma.

I noticed this for The Bank Job as well. Expect Lionsgate to phase out the silver covers in time since I bet they cost a little bit more than just a standard one.

Meaning that the silver covers will become a collectible BD.

"Collectible" Blus don't really mean anything because they don't grow in value. Unless you sell something back on Ebay you lose money when you go to sell them back.

They need to re-release Saw 3 and put out the extended version of it on the disc.. It pisses me off that they didnt put it out in the first place.

The extended cut of the first movie isn't on the Blu. There is a DVD version that has the extended cut and my copy has blood in the DVD case. It's cool.

Lionsgate seems to have the worst Blu-rays out there IMO. Many have poor PQ (Waiting..., T2, Total Recall), and not including a branched extended/alternate cut is pretty dumb if you ask me. They're too worried about including pointless digital copies than to cater to the film itself.

Some of them are quite good, actually.

Might as well throw The Bank Job on the list of good ones too. Not amazing PQ, but solid for the film. Pretty good sound for the movie as well.

Lionsgate should definitely re-release any movie that the initial blu-ray release did not include lossless audio and/or the extended/director's cut.

I'm just saying that compared to other major companies releasing Blu-rays, they are dead last. You guys have listed a small batch of new release titles that yes, do look fine. They mainly fail at catalogue releases, plus they don't port over all extras from the previous DVD versions (Devil's Rejects, Lord of War, American Psycho, etc).

Agreed, their newer titles look just fine but their catalog titles are shameful for blu-ray. I would have thought a company like Lionsgate that has so many bad ass movies would go all out for blu but sadly even Paramount puts out better quality.
