Default Accidental Shooting While Installing Home Theatre System

I know this is an old story, but the thread about a man shooting himself with a nail gun made me think of this story, so I did a quick Google search and found the article. It's actually kind of relevant to the forum in general too, go figure. Sorry if this was posted back when it happened.

http://www.connecttristates.com/news...aspx?id=112401

SEDALIA, MO. (AP) -- Officials are trying to decide whether to file charges against a Missouri man who fatally shot his wife while trying to install a satellite TV system in their home.

Thirty-four-year-old Patsy Long of Deep Water was pronounced dead Saturday evening after being shot in the chest with a .22-caliber handgun. Her husband, Ronald Long, fired the shot from the inside of their home after several unsuccessful efforts to punch a hole through the exterior wall using other means.

Henry County Sheriff's Deputies say the woman was hit by the second of two shots fired by her husband.

Investigators say a person involved in such a case normally would be charged with manslaughter, but that was up to the prosecutor.

You would think that if you were going to shoot a gun into a house you would first make sure everyone was out. However, a rational person wouldn't shoot a gun into a house no matter what. Still, a sad story.

I've used this numerous times, but this has to be the most appropriate use so far.

The movie Idiocracy comes to mind. Some of the things I've seen and heard over the last few months really has me believing that as a species we are getting dumber with each new generation.

I liked it. But I would definitely recommend renting it first. I have very eclectic tastes when it comes to movies.

ill definitely have to rent it then, it always looked like one of those movies that COULD be good, but i never really heard anything about it, so it had a real possibility of sucking, and i always found something i wasnt so unsure about to rent instead

Couple of things (as this happened in my neck of the woods):

- It was his 2nd shot that hit and killed her.
- Coax has a larger diameter than .22", he should have been using a 9mm or .45 to do the job right.

I am refusing to laugh at this post. *leaves room to giggle to myself quietly.*

What's even dumber, is that the dish companies are ALWAYS offering free installation.

Right, but the dish company doesn't offer a service to off your wife...which seems to be what this guy was looking for.
