Question - Why do you need Dolby TrueHD or DTS HD Master if you are using a ps3? The ps3 does its own processing and sends the signal out LPCM, and Sony has no plan to add bitstreaming abilities to the ps3. I would recommend this system http://www.accessories4less.com/make...s-More-/1.html although it doesn't decode the HD Codecs, it does HDMI audio, its perfect for the PS3 and you get a real classy speaker package to go with it!

P.S. When I comes down to speakers - you need to listen. I recommeded the Kefs because they makes solid speakers (I used to sell them) but there are many good speakers out there! Take some time and go listen to some - with your budget you owe it to yourself!!!

There is an excellent receiver/speaker combo available in the "Hot Deals" section right now.

http://www.accessories4less.com/make...s-More-/1.html

Marantz receiver with 5 KEF speakers for $1100. Definitely an excellent value.

would this system be better than Driver_King's recommended setup for virgin home theater guys? cuz i plan on following his package pretty much exactly.

i plan on getting an onkyo 606, cs2 center, polk monitor 50's for fronts and polk monitor 30's for surrounds and an ED A2-300 sub. which do you guys think is better?

I would like to add that if you find them on sale, you should get the monitor 60s or 70s instead of the 50s. ONLY if you can find a really good deal on them. The Monitor 50s are still very well regarded. Sorry I cannot answer your question, but I can say that my setup sounds fantastic, especially with Blu-rays!
