Default My new Home Theatre System Review

Well I am gonna make it short and sweet, first my name is Don and I am a 20 year old HD junkie.

My new system I just got yesterday consist of...

Sharp Aquos 42" LCD HDTV 1080p 6000:1 Contrast
PS3 - 60 GB
SONY 5.1 Surround Sound with HDMI In and Out
Nintendo Wii
Brighthouse Cable HD - Full Package Every HD Channel Out
2 Monster HDMI Cables

Well I have had the PS3 for about 2 weeks and I bought Disturbia BR with it. I have been really confused on which 1080p tv to buy. And finally Circuit City had a sweet deal on the Sharp $1299. So I hooked everything up last night and used the THX screen setup to make sure all the colors and setting were right.

So far I am in love with the TV, Blu Ray look amazing on it, 1080i hd cable looks great. The PS3 Games look incredible. And the ease of the tv is really nice. One touch settings to help with brightness in low light or high light. The remote is ehh. Not a Logitech but it will do for now. I sent off the form for the 5 free blu rays 2 weeks ago and still waiting patiently. Unfortunatly everything cost so much to get set up I only have the 1 blu ray movie and no ps3 games (except the demos). But soon I will build my collection.

So far what is everyones opinion on the best Blu Ray movie out, to get the best picture and best sound?

Well yeah im new to the site and cant wait to discuss more on the new Blu Ray movies coming out (spiderman, pirates, cars)

Thanks for reading!

the THX formatting is on some dvds, um the Standard DVD for cars has the THX editing tool. And imo Lucas and that short little editor really help the picture quality, if you have any star wars or cars it should be on there. Check it out for yourself, and if you dont like how it looks (which i seriously doubt you will think that) you can just change it back to factory. GOOD LUCK

yeah i have heard that about the pirates, im still at the phase of waiting for 3 instead of having 2 copies (br and standard dvd). Thats the only thing that isnt too good right now, I have a 350 dvd collection and I just cant bring myself to buy some of the same movies on br. :/

I said too and it lasted about a month. 1080p will become your stanard for watching everything.

Start by rebuying movies when they are new versions (directors cuts etc)... Then buy movies that will look especially good in HD (action flicks mostly)... etc etc....
