Default Thoughts on Cerwin Vega Sub

I was just wondering what opinions one might have towards this sub?
http://www.cerwin-vega.com/CLS12S.php
I own it but it was bought prior to finding this site .......however I'm not dissatisfied with it. I was wondering how it would compare to an SVS which seems to get alot of good hype? Or what I should be comparing to a similar sub?

Seems like a decent sub. But when looking for subs, I look for the low freq extension within +/-3b limit. The eD A2-300 goes down to 18hz within a +/-3db limit. Yours goes down to 27hz. After that you have significant bass drop off. The SVS PB-12-NSD is also rated within the +/-3db down to 18hz. But it also has more RMS wattage and will hit harder and lower than your CV Sub. But if you're asking me if it's worth an upgrade...you have a good sub if the spec sheet is right. The PB-12NSD is the entry level 12inch sub from SVS and will cost you a nice $600 from their site. The Elemental Designs A2-300 is also the 12in. entry level sub from eD. Mine cost $350 shipped and I'm very pleased with it. I would also look at Epik subs as well as BIC subs. But with the price you paid for your sub and what you got, you're sub can hold it's own.

not sure about that one.... but I bought a "Sub-150" from CV about 12 years ago or so..... and it's a piece of junk for what I paid for it....... but I've learned a lot in 12 years

Well, the one you have posted on the link is a decent sub. Price is about middle of the road for what you get. I'd look at the two subs I suggested to you. The SVS PB-12 sub gets a lot of good reviews. The eD A2-300 is pretty close in specs to the SVS sub but is almost half the price.

Check out this thread from AVS. Scroll down to the 8th post for the listings.

Thanks for the info A@Birth I'm also living in the land of Paradigm I do believe they have a few nice ones as well. I listen to a lot of music as well so if I were to upgrade to a sub that gives you that kick drum feel which would accompany that. I find it hard to get a sense of this in a show room element.
All thoughts and criticisms are welcome Actually I see Paradigm didn't even make the list!
