Default Vaio Laptop Dropping connections.

Hello my brothers in Blu.

I have a main (wired) cpu that I built long ago running dsl through a router.

My Wired CPU gets the internet just fine. My Wii....no problems. My PS3...Flawless...great connections.

Last month, I bought my mother (who lives downstairs [two family house]) a sony vaio laptop and it was getting signal on and off, which was solved by the wireless router.

A couple of days ago, it just FLAT OUT won't connect.
I had VISTA diagnose it and it said it might be something wrong with the network adaptor?? Can an internal one be replaced or are they talking about software???

The model number is: VGN-NS240E/P

Any and all help are very much appreciated. I had no computer problems at all until this happened and they aren't even MY problems!!!

Thanks folks.

Have you tried resetting the router?

I will try that.

The only reason I haven't yet is because the PS3 and the Wii are working fine.

I'll try anything at this point. I can't stand that sad puppydog look She gives me and I don't have any answers yet.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Anyone else???

you could also take the laptop to a hot spot and see if it picks the wifi up there. Then you'd know it's the router.

There's also the reinstallation of the wifi card drivers. That with the other things mentioned would rule out the card.

Default Thank you all.

Big Dog, you were dead on.

I want to thank everyone who helped me out.

We are up and running again.

Case closed.

Mods, please feel free to close this thread, unless anyone else wants to use it to talk about the same problems.

Thanks again,
