Default Help!!! Lite-On 8x BD Drive Freezes Vista 64

I just entered the world of Blu-Ray by buying a Lite-On 8x Blu-Ray Reader (and DVD/CD Burner) for my PC. I was blown away by how cool it is. The only problem is, I haven't been able to watch a movie all the way through without my system freezing with (or without) an audio screech.

I have tried a different SATA port, tried a different soundcard and different PCI slot for the soundcard, tried pulling different RAM modules, tried checking all the power and data connections and nothing has fixed my problem. The only thing left is the drive itself... or its cable. I've also noticed my machine sometimes does the same freeze while using different applicaions not related to the BD Drive ever since it's been in there.

Has anyone had this problem? Should I just return the drive and try another? Or does someone know some groovy sneaky trick that might get me rolling allong?

Thanks in advance!
