Default Adding a second sub!

Im going to adding a second psw10 subwoofer to my setup. I was hoping people who have done this could recommend settings, placement, calibration or any other tips that may be helpful!

read through this, and check out a few of the other sticky threads that are right above this one that you posted. Reading is knowledge my friend. Alot of getting the placement right is going to come from what you read, and pure experimentation.

I'm kinda lucky, because my placement is fantaastic!!!
Reason I say lucky I have read on here where people are not getting the best with the placement they have. my room is small and I didn't have many choices and the front ended up being the best.

If you check out my gallery you will see that I have a corner setup, so Im SOL for the front. Hopefully it will sound pretty good where I wanna put it. If not I will have to experiment a bit!

I should really update that. I moved them back, further apart and pointed them towards my TV. I realized that the way I had it wasn't correct.

not to rip this train off it's tracks, but have you thought about moving your setup to be flat against one of your walls? Because of your cable hookup, moving the tv to the left wall would seem to make the easiest sense, but I can't see your whole place, so I don't know your reasoning behind the corner placement. Corner setups are the hardest to calibrate correctly with speakers and surrounds.

Hey ice and Hamp, his set-up and questions of the rear speakers was previously addressed in his gallery thread. You can give it a read here....

I live in an ocean front condo, on the Oregon Coast. One of the key reasons for the display to be where its is, is the light that starts piercing through the blinds ( even when they are closed ) everyday. For some reason, that spot in the living room doesn't seem to get as much light (glare). As I have no attic or crawl space, the routing of wires is not very convenient. I have tried several possible setups and have come back to this one. It works for us for the time being. I don't plan to stay in this condo the rest of my life and am looking forward to the day I can get a bigger living room, mount my display to the wall, open up my front sound stage and mount my satellites to the wall. I have plans, just cant do them at this time.

Ordered it today. $130.00 shipped from Amazon. Will I notice much difference between the the two being that the one Ive had for 8 months is broke in? I doubt it, but I thought I would ask!

I dont think so. All this talk I see sometimes about "breaking in" a speaker, I don't know if I agree with it that much. They may need a few hours or consecutive playing to get to where you think they sound & work best for your system, so if that is "breaking them in", then call it what you will. Pretty good deal (surprisingly, Newegg had it at $149.99 shipping included--?!). I had my original Sub for a few weeks when I bought my 2nd one, which is now my Secondary sub, complimenting the Front or Main sound-stage PSW-10. You just have to adjust its settings to compliment & balance out your room.

Play around, experiment, get down next to them, throw in a few good movies that you know have good Sub use. Only you can determine how they work together as I noted above (balancing each other out), based on your room design & location of them in it. For more "technical" info or answers, browse this thread for others with 2 Sub set-ups, or the Polk Audio Subwoofer thread also, & PM them with questions (Forsberg21, DonRSD, Big Daddy, Driver King, CrazyBLUE are but a few of many who can provide invaluable Insight & assistance).

Good luck & enjoy em'!

You should not notice a difference Nick. They should perform the same IMO. What you have to figure out now is the location for your 2 subs. From your pics, it looks like your current sub is located on the right side next to your far right surround speaker. In this scenario, you would want to place the second sub on the opposite wall facing the first sub. However, you need to play with location for both subs. The "sub crawl" is a good idea, and this is where you put the sub (if you can do this, as you'll need a long RCA audio cable for the sub) in your primary seating position and get down on your knees and "listen" to the bass response. Where it feels strongest, is the best place for your first sub, and then try to follow what I said above, place the second sub on the opposite side of the room facing the first sub. 2 subs are usually done to help with any bass voids in a room, but you can get improved bass in the room too, that provides a more even low frequency response.

Read the stickys below from our Big Daddy, as was mentioned earlier in this thread, they are invaluable!

I can't wait to get a second sub. I plan on eventually owning 4 A2-300s. Of course this may be a few years in the making, but I'll make it happen.

talipiah, you gotta keep an eye on crazyblue, he is getting 3 more AA's next week and should have a lot of opinions to add in support of what a 4 sub set-up can do.

You should hear a diffence from one to the other.
But don't worry about it they will even themselfs out.

I went through the same deal when i got my second SUB.
It was one of the best decisions i made for my system.

Two is always better then one
