We all have been there at one time or another I'm assuming, when you are watching a movie with someone and you hear the words "Want to get away?" echoing in your head.

Talk about a movie or scene and who you were with, when your Uncomfortable Silence developed.

The rape scene in Derailed. I saw that with a group of guys and girls, we were all just quiet and in shock.... We talked about the scene openly and it was a fascinating discussion. Rape is REALLY effed up and we came to the conclusion that its worst for men because statistically male rape victims end up with worst lives.

Well, all that tells me is you guys are chatting like a couple kids during the movie and need to be quiet. Sorry, but i can't watch a movie if people are talking. What's the point?

Come on? You know what I was getting at. You never saw a movie with your mom or kids and realized that "wow, this is uncomfortable!" There are more than one kind of being silent while watching movies.

On a sunday, my whole family was in the living room, including my grandma. I was dying to watch superbad again so I went to blockbuster and rented it. You can imagine how unconfortable the cock scene was.

I Concur! Thats exactly how I felt when watching the Special Edition of Star Wars in 1997. It was really effed up!

When I took my oldest daughter to see The Huntchback of Notre Dame. I could not believe that was a Disney film when the Archdeacon was singing about his "lust" for Esmeralda. Disney could have changed that....

Well, i guess so. I don't really watch movies with my mom because we have totally different tastes, but i imagine if we did that there would be plenty of "awkward" moments. With my kids, i make sure i know what we're seeing in advance to deflect that kinda stuff. I learned my lesson when i took them to see POTC:At World's End and within the first 10 minutes someone got shot right in the head. Seems the studios are really pushing the PG-13 rating to the limit, so i just stay away now.

I'm the only person in my family who has seen Watchmen... i'm only 16 and say it's a great film to my family, but let's just see how awkward it gets with all those sex scenes when we watch it later this month haha.

I watched Transformers with my mom a while back to show her my new system and the "Sam's happy time" scene was pretty awkward.

Same here but the move was "The Accused" with jodi foster. I saw that movie on a first date.

I never spoke to her again. I think she thought I took her to that movie and I knoew what is was about. I had no idea they were going to show that, if I did I would have waited to the 2nd date.

The only one I can really remember is going to watch the life with david gale with my mom and havingto watch kevin spacey rail rhona mitra, that was a little awkward but nothing too bad i guess.

I remember sitting with my parents in the theater watching the opening scenes of "Look Who's Talking". Awkward.
