Default Children of Men playback issues with LG GBC-H20L

So I purchased Children of Men yesterday and immediately brought it home to watch it. I put the disc in and loaded up my software (PowerDVD 7.3 under Windows Vista), the disc seemed to load up fine, but once I got to the main menu, the video behind the menu would play for a bit and then start breaking up into tiles. I didn't think much of it at first and started the movie. After watching a bit of the movie, the same problem happened several times and became so annoying that I couldn't watch it anymore. Assuming that it was just a temporary issue, I restarted the computer and tried again with no success. At this point I booted the computer up under Windows 7 RC1 and tried the disc with PowerDVD 9, but ran into the same problem.

At this point I was hoping that it was a problem with the disc itself, but I was able to test it out on a standalone blu-ray player today and didn't seem to have any of these problems with it.

I haven't had any problems with any other discs and I have no idea where to go from here. I haven't had any issues with playback of any other blu-rays that I own or have rented and even went as far as to watch a different movie to test it out tonight. I've tried updating firmware, drivers, and software to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

The basic specs on my machine are:
2.3 GHz Athlon dual core processor
3 GB RAM
ATI 2600HD video card
LG GBC-H20L blu-ray drive (obviously)

I can't get it to work at all with PowerDVD 9. It says there isn't a disc in the drive....this is the only disc I've had a problem with. Weird...

Hate that there are no follow-ups to this... Children of Men isn't working for me either. I used to get the main menu loop, and if I jumped to a chapter other than 1, I could see about 30 seconds of video... but now all I get is a blank screen and audio.

I've seen some posts that suggest turning off hardware acceleration, others suggest using beta NVIDIA drivers (I'm using a Dell XPS M1710 with an Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GTX).

Its not possible to disable hardware acceleration for my card. Installing beta drivers on a laptop takes a bit of a trick, but I'm willing to give it a shot *shrug*
