HELP PLEASE LG GBC-H20L wont play BR discs - Blu-ray Forum

Will play reg discs tho. Sent to LG they say unit is fine. Cant find HDCP is enabled or tests good on BeLarc advise. Found "Commu. Dhcp Server 192.168.1.1" But thats not it. Every driver updated etc etc over and over again. I'm missing something here.

after reading & rereading threads and checking & rechecking the powerdvd disc i loaded it simply astounds me of my stupidity and lack of knowledge. my computer is fine but disc is not for bluray. I had complete NIB for 3 mos sent it in to get cked and only got drive back. PO ed on that also. Note: you can't or I could't ck properties of software installed from my LG PWDVD disc and figure out what level of powerdvd you have. i tried anyway and could not. this went on for 6 mos off and on attempting to find problem. how in the hell does lg sell a super multi blue - blue ray drive without the proper (blue ray) play disc? i'm baffled and just a very slight smidgen smarter. and also a bit ashamed.... and ........ REALLY PISSED OFF ! no more LG for me cbx1170

How is your monitor connected DVI or VGA. If it is DVI try connecting it using a VGA cable.

The PowerDVD as supplied with DVD Players/Burners is very basic and certainly won't play BDs...This will apply to all brands of DVD Player /Burners.. Will play ordinary DVDs Ok. Go to the Cyberlink Website and you will find all the info you need which will tell you what version you will need and I can tell you now it is only the ULTRA which will play BDs.

yes i now know supplied software GBC-H20L will not play blu ray. I lost orig box with all info. moved 2 times. My bad. after numerous contacts phone & email with LG and asking them why no Blu ray playback no one informed me of this. even sent unit in and got 2 words back. unit functional. I spun thinking it was my pc. misinformed to send software disc in with unit for test and I did, never got it (disc) back and no replies to anything after unit was returned to me. If I am stupid, tell me, I learn, if ya ignore me and still think I am stupid after decent attempts to find out/learn, I ignore you and wont buy your products is the way I think. I have two quad cores in need of Blu ray. I think I will look around to other units....... No no I don't hold a grudge....cbx

Just a slight correction from me. I checked the PowerDVD specs and according to them the OEM versions(as supplied with relevant hardware) should play BD, albeit slightly crippled eg, only 2 Ch sound..
Am at a loss as to why it doesn't play..
A clutching at straws question: Notice you are running Vista Ultimate, are you using 64 or 32 bit..Not an expert on Vista apart from what a crappy OS it is but what does come to mind is the problems people seem to have between 64 and 32 bit.. Apart from that I can't offer any other solutions at this time, sorry..
