MGS4 does have online. It's pretty hard and different from most online shooters from what I've heard. I didn't like Resistance 1 but loved resistance 2. Resistance 2 ( while repetitive) is still very fun and one of the best online co-op experiences i've had yet. Killzone 2 is a lot of fun online but really hard to master.

I loved resistance 2 online!! Play part 1 first if you are interested in the story though since it explains everything, MGS4 online is pretty good IMO, a little slow but good, KILLZONE 2 rocked!! I loved everyhting about it, online, story mode, controls, etc... But with that said it is harder than most FPS games

I haven't tried Metal Gear Online mainly due to the connection settings. Its a client to client based connection for games on MGO. As for Resistance 2, I am amazed at how they could get 60 online at a time with very little lag, even when at times, the action becomes a complete mess. Killzone 2 on the other hand is quite similar to Team Fortress 2 with its scout, engineer, medic and several others. The only problem is, its quite laggy in some spots and one of the most recient updates removed the spawn invunrability, which means if you spawn in a bad spot, you'll probably be dead in half a second.

In Killzone 2, there are two types of multiplayer; Skirmish (Off-line) and Warzone (Online). Skirmish, if you don't have online access or if you just plain suck at multiplayer, can enable you to change the difficulty of the gameplay like in campaign mode and battle AI-enabled enemies instead of players online. Like in Resistance 2's Skirmish mode, requires you to do specific tasks to get points for your team. The only drawback is that you can't rank up.
In Warzone, you can rank up and unlock weapons, perks, medals, etc. Since you're playing online, you can choose the lobbies that suit your best at the type of mode it suits (i.e, you find a lobby with Assassination and Team Deathmatch, and due to your experience, you enter). Plus, you can't change the difficulty of the gameplay, so it will be pretty difficult to rank up and get some kills for you. In Resistance 2, You get pretty much the same thing; Skirmish mode allows you to do what is already mentioned when I explained about Killzone 2 multiplayer; basically you do specific tasks to rank up points for your team. There is also the casual Free-for all, Team Deathmatch, and Capture The Flag if you're a classic FPS junkie. However, there is a Cooperative Multiplayer Campaign mode. This mode is entirely different to Competitive, because you are in squads of 3-8 units. There are three different classes to choose from: Soldier, the shock-trooper of the squad, wields an HVAP Wraith minigun and basically just kills every Chimera in sight. Medic, the guys that heal the units and armed with a Phoenix life-draining energy-based weapon. Lastly, the Spec Ops, which gives ammo and plants mines, and equipped with a Marksman 3-round burst sniper rifle. Though you don't rank up for your Competitive stats, you rank up for weapons, berserks, costumes, etc. in Cooperative mode. I haven't tried MGO, since I have to keep downloading that crappy update and sign up for a Konami ID. I wish Konami would just use our PSN Accounts rather than make up their own version of it. ![]() Anyways, I hope this helps you. ![]() |
