what TV do you have? also, try turning off 1080p/24Hz

Settings - Video Settings - BD 1080p 24 Hz Output (HDMI) - Off

since youve had the PS3 for a year, you may have already done this. In which case, disregard.

Perhaps there are some finger prints/smudge on the disc?

I prefer 1080/60p as it gives better motion IMHO. 1080/24p will contain judder due to the nature of how film works at 24 frames per second. There are articles you can find about this. Here is a good one:

The Big Judder Problem and the Overhyping of 24p

Off can be a good thing, especially if your TV cannot display 24 fps. (Vizio's most likely cannot. But I can be mistaken)

I personally would just leave it Off.

I had a frame rate issue when watching Batman Begins on DVD a couple years ago. I had to turn off my system and turn it back on to fix it. Ever since then, my PS3 has played beautifully. My guess is that it had something to do with the firmware. Try running an update if you haven't in a while.
