Gerard Butler Accused of Attacking a Dog - Blu-ray Forum

Who doesn't want a funny reading once in a while.

King Leonides took it out on a Greyhound for Spartans.

Yup, exactly the picture says it all. He gave the poor dog a nightmare.

Retired banker Fred Varecka claims that Gerard Butler lashed out at his greyhound dog on a street in Queens, New York last Monday.

Varecka was walking two dogs when Butler's unleashed pug dog ran over to them. He says Butler quickly followed, striking one of Varecka's larger dogs for no apparent reason.

Varecka said: "My dog crashed into a fence before yelping in pain. I asked him, 'What did you hit my dog for?' But he just kept ranting and raving that our dog should be put down - it was unbelievable because the dogs never came into contact at any time."

But a friend of the actor's claims the greyhounds attacked his pooch, forcing him to physically defend his pet. "Gerry is an animal lover and simply separated the dogs," he said. "He's devastated that these people are saying these things, he would never hurt another animal."

Varecka has filed a harassment complaint with the New York Police Department, claiming Butler "cursed him out". Butler, meanwhile, rushed his canine to a Manhattan vet, but the extent of the dog's injuries is unknown.

I'm sure the dog is fine. If your dog is getting attacked by another dog, I think you have the right to defend it. It's not like he killed the Greyhound, now did he?

Judging the role Gerard played for 300 makes the idea of him having a dog is scary.

That's messed up if the dogs really weren't doing anything to the pug... his pug should have been on a leash, jeez.

Well I'm a big dog lover and would gladly lay down my life for my dog. So I hope that Mr. Butler was actually just trying to defend his dog. If so, I believe he had every right to do so. Some people may not understand just how much we can love our dogs.

If it was a large dog you know HOW FREAKING HARD he would have had to hit that thing to make it "crash into the fence".

But the real question is when his friend said Gerard "would never hurt another animal" is he admitting Gerard attack the dog and wouldn't do it again or is he calling Gerard an animal?
