Canada Acoustic Panel pricing!

Hi guys,

I've been wanting to buy some acoustic panels for quite some time, but could never find a Canadian dealer that wasn't also super-expensive. Looking at U.S. sites and importing them was also economically ridiculous. We never qualify for free shipping plus the Custom Duties and such made it unfeasible to consider this option.

Well, I have good news for you!

I found a place 20 minutes from my house that sells acoustic panels for $1.99 a square foot for 1" thickness. You can choose from a wedge design or a pyramid design and the standard colour is charcoal grey. Other colours are available at an additional cost, but I don't know what that is. This place is just starting with this and their website isn't up and running yet, but I've linked you to get info by going to their sister site and requesting info.

Basic pricing is:
$1.99 for 12x12"x1" Thickness
$2.99 for 12x12"x2" Thickness
$3.99 for 12x12"x3" Thickness

Here is the website !

So I see the search has finally panned out & given you some results in finding what you were in search of . That's great John .

Finding the acoustic foam so close is cool & you won't have to order & wait either !

Morning Brent!

It sure is nice to have found this place. I can pick up the panels myself, but I still have to wait a bit. Since they are just starting, they are taking orders, but only ordering from their supplier monthly. I'll be ordering 3 packs of 12x12x1" (36 units), but won't get them until mid-November. Cost = $80 taxes in.

I'll be able to put some behind my fronts and on the wall opposite above the couch of my seating position. The sides of the room are covered by heavy drapes to the left and my LP cabinets and Media cabinets on the right.

I'm pretty excited to have found this place. They are new to this, so this is the first time a search panned out! Woohoo! I hope my fellow Canadians will see this thread!

John

They will see it if they have any acoustic Interest & have thought of improving sound within an enclosed area .

Although it is not A night & day difference , It does help some on the way A room will sound .

I book-marked the site , thanks for the info ill definitely be looking into getting some for my room.

Ordering from Canada can sometimes be a pain, so this helps plus being an 2 hours from my house doesn't hurt either.

It's great to finally find a local supplier with good pricing. I drive by the place about twice a week, so ordering and pickup isn't an issue.

Hi Rich!

It really is good news. They'll be placing another order towards the end of the month, so I should have my panels sometime in November!

It'll be very interesting to see how much of sonic improvement I hear. I have no experience with Acoustic Panels, so I'm looking forward to it.

John, I just bought 12 pieces of 12X12 1" wedge acoustic foam a couple of days ago, and the foam itself cost only $9.99 for the 12 pieces. However, I assume the foam you are getting is of better quality because of your knowledge. For what it is worth, I got mine from The Foam Factory.

That would probably work out to the same price Fors, because I have to consider the dollar exchange rate, the shipping costs, the customs duties and taxes.

You guys don't see it, as most times you get free shipping, but I'm here to tell you that international shipping charges from most of these places are outrageous.

And yeah, I did look at the Foam Factory for pricing a few weeks ago.

As far as quality is concerned I really have no idea, and I also have little to no knowledge of acoustic panels. In this case, I'm a newbie like many others!

Thanks for the post Fors, because I'm sure many Canadians will still be ordering from the U.S. and The Foam Factory does indeed have good pricing!

Hi John,

Excellent find. Like you I've been searching for a local supplier for some time now.

I'm going to need a few pieces for my HT, and for my 2 channel listening room.

Thank you very much for posting the info.

You're very welcome Dennis!

I should add that the panels not only come in a 12"x12"x1" size, but in various other configurations as well. Hopefully their soon to be active website will have all of those details!

Well dang....I have always thought you were up in crazy territory, in the NW part of the US. I guess I should have checked under your avatar a little more closely. If I had known, I would agree with you that it would be a wash. What was funny with my foam is that although it cost $9.99 for all of it, it cost over $10.00 to ship UPS ground and it is some light-a$$ foam too! LOL!!!

Thanks for the link John!

I did a research about this some time ago (I was actually looking for acoustic panels) and I found the following:

Acoustic Panels Canada: The panels are made in Canada, good price, the only downside is that they only have one panel size... Perhaps they can make custom size on demand.

Forward acoustics: Good selection of products (made in Canada). They sell via local distributors (and I think I'm in luck... I know someone who works for their local distributors in Mtl).

ATS acoustics - Actually a US based company but they are shipping to Canada from a warehouse in Canada (that means no hassle with duties, etc.).

Acco panneaux acoustiques - Acoustic panels made in mtl, Qc.

Technature - Eco friendly acoustic panels made in Canada.

Anyway, if someone has other links or experience with any of these products/suppliers your opinion would be greatly appreciated.
