Boston Acoustic sub won't...

Will not come on. I'm picking it up tomorrow to work on it. He says fuse is not blown. The sub is about 9 years old and was working perfectly under normal conditions... meaning it was not turned up or played too hard. My first option is to check the driver. What other options do I have? Is there anyway to check the amp itself? Actually, I don't even think the power light comes on. Are the power supplies for subs seperate like a computer or is it in the amp itself? Any pointers are greatly appreciated. I will keep you posted...
