Nope, only what the manufacturers ship, and that doesn't come out as often.

Really? I thought many knew it was coming from the leaked image before E3.

The price cut has been rumored to happen since E3 (which was itself rumored to be the occasion for a price cut), which has hurt every single month's sales (even if the $399 price point is also hurting sales in and of itself, of course).

The latest rumor had the price cut anounced at the Gamescom in August (rumor since June), so July got hit hard, and expect August to be hit as well ( unless the rumors of dwindling availability of the Fat PS3, on top of the promos left and right to liquidate stocks worked).

Still disheartening (at least the PS3 placed 1 in the top 3 software), but it should be the last month or the one before last before things turn around imo.

The PS3 has been rumoured to be getting a price drop for like, a year, if not more.

I would imagine August won't be much better, but ya, if the rumours are right (and they seem to be), September should be a watershed moment for the PS3. I know I'm getting another for the fiance.

Note that the list is not complete as we don't know what countries are under "PAL" and we don't have numbers for Canada/Mexico/South America, as well as other Asian countries and smaller market countries.

Atleast PS3 outsold the PS2. The slim coming out with a $299 price should jump the PS3 sales way up there. I know I'll probably be buying a 2nd one.

The interesting numbers will be post slim release. Everybody predicts that sales will rocket once it's cheaper and roughly the same price as the 360. I hope that happens and that the 360 is crushed to dust

(though I am currently using mine to play Knights of the Old Republic 2 while I'm without a PS3), but what if it doesn't happen, what then?

Who cares? In spite of Activision's blustering, they are not going to drop the PS3. No one will, it's far too successful, especially world-wide.

So you'll still have the Sony first party games with the occasional 2nd/3rd party exclusive(think small dev JRPG), plus all the multiplatform games.

Why does it matter if it outsells the 360?

I find it interesting that the Wii had a bigger year-to-year total percentage drop than the PS3.

I think it is more people waiting for the inevitable price cut or new model IMO. Sales are only slacking off because of this possibility.

No ofense to the PS3 here but your statemant doesn't make any sense. They were already beating the PS3, and it got them to still be ahead of the PS3, in NA anyways.

Anyways with developers saying they maxed out the 360 already, and a price cut coming for the PS3, things will change.
