Default Sony has great customer service... not

So my PS3 just gave me a 80029906 error code (bad drive) . So I decided to begin the process and call sony. After a 20 min wait I spoke to a woman that I could barely understand. She was very rude and short with me, just wanted me off the phone. I tried to give her the error code and her response was "sir, just answer the questions". I could not believe it!! I purchased my PS3 10 months ago from Circuit City…. And of course I do not have my receipt nor can Circuit City re-print this for me. Any ideas!? Anyone want to scan me a receipt

Anyway, I guess after hearing all the good hype about Sony customer service I found this a very disappointing experience that will probably cost me $150... Thank you Sony

Wouldn't have cost you anything had you kept the receipt.

I had no issues when I had to get my PS3 replaced. Good service on the phone, box was sent immediately, new unit was sent days later.

Seriously? The receipt is lost? You may be out of luck then.

I had good service when mine died almost a year ago.

My suggestion, call again. You will get a different rep and chances are they will be more helpful.

I believe Sony and Samsung share the same customer service center.
That there should tell you something about Sony's standard warranty policies.
If you bought an extended warranty through Sony, then you get a different number that goes directly to Sony, not a CS pimp house.

First time I hear negative feed back about Sony's customer service, sorry man. When mine died last year it almost seem too easy because they did almost everything for me an within a couple of days too

I got the $40 deal at Best Buy. I just put in it my mileage so no worries LOL. If it busts I get a new one.... Costs too much to fix this stuff nowadays they just give you a new one...

Thanks for the thoughts guys... So this morning I plugged it back in and it worked (for the 5 min I was able to test it). I have no idea how it would all of a sudden start working again, I had unplugged it last night when testing and nothing. Now that this has happened I sense that it is only a matter of time before it happens again.

So do I sell it and put the money toward a slim or fork out the $150 once it breaks again???

Sorry to hear about their poor service....did you pay with a credit card? if so, that can be your receipt...thats what i used when it broke down twice on me. I didn't have the store receipt and just printed my c.c. statement online where it showed the purchase of the ps3 and sony was kind enough to accept that....so good luck....

I did use my CC but it only shows the amount and where I purchased it at not that it was a PS3.
