Default Could Best Buy hide titles so they don't have to price match?

I've been all over the place trying to find a Best Buy that has Planet Earth on blu ray so I can price match with walmart.com, and none of the 4 around my house have it, although it states on it's website that they do.

Do you think they're hiding the ones they have in stock so they don't have to price match it, and after walmart.com's offer is over they will just bring them out again?

Is this something they've done before?

You can check stock status at all of the BB stores in your area online.

I'm not joking because I went to 2 of them, checked the rack and they didn't have it, then I asked the guys there and they checked the computer and they said yes we must have it here somewhere, then they went to look for it at the back, half hour later they said "sorry, the computer must be wrong", or something like that. After going to those two stores went home and called 2 others and they "checked" and nothing meanwhile on the website only one of the stores changed their product status to not available, that's when I started suspecting going to call back again today, just in case.

It seems strange for me since I like Best Buy, and I often buy there.

Yep they sent guys to look for it and everything. Actually the one that I went first, they told me they had 3, then some employees looked for it amd couldn't find it, it's the only one that changed it's online status to not available the other ones still haven't changed it.

I have gotten best buy to price match walmart prices. If they see that it says available in store also then they'll price match. Atleast at my store. But I highly doubt they hide or keep a track of other store prices.

OK, well I think I understand what's going on there because I worked for BB for a summer (Blu Benny can probably vouch for this too)...the majority of the time, if the system says there are less than 3 or so copies in the store, it's very likely they are actually sold out. This has been a known issue with the inventory system (usually because of the time it takes to update OR because there are some on hold at customer service through call-ins or in store pick ups), and we were told to tell customers looking for items with only a few displaying in stock that it wasn't in stock. I usually spent a few times looking for the items anyway--both in the store and in the back--and never found them. I'm not trying to defend BB, just trying to explain what I think is going on

I have also heard of customers that deviously 'hide' what they want to buy in the wrong section so that they can come back to pick it up later.

Many Best Buy stores are poorly run and have little control of their inventory.

I think you're right, maybe it's a system thing. I went online and got the BD from amazon uk. Thanks, and I still like BB.
