Default Best Buy price match ?

I was in my local Best Buy this morning. On-line they have "The Kingdom" advertised for $14.99. In the store it was marked $24.99. The kid at the register said that on-line sales are different. I hear all this chatter about how Best Buy is supposed to price match. Why wouldn't they price match thier own price?

The kid told you wrong. Mine matches BBY online, but I usually have to go to the customer service counter.

you have to make sure the best buy online discounted item doesn't say "online only" in which case they're won't match it in store. best buy has deals all the time on their website that are online only and i've rarely gotten them to PM it (still never hurts to ask though). but if they have something cheaper on their website than in the store and it isn't an online only promo, then yes, they should PM it. some stores have different policies. i know target's online prices are generally different/lower than their store prices for their reasoning that you have to pay shipping online

They match the online price.
They just can't do like special offers where you get things for free usually or different financing. Go and price match it

What if I find a lower price at another Best Buy store or on BestBuy.com?
If an item you purchased at Best Buy is advertised at a lower price at another Best Buy store in your local area or on BestBuy.com, We'll refund you the price difference from our own sale price during the return and exchange period on your product. Simply bring in your original Best Buy receipt to the customer service counter while that lower price is still in effect. The Price Guarantee does not apply to our or our competitors' free offers, limited-quantity items, items for sale November 28th & 29th, 2008, open-box items, clearance items, Outlet Center items, mail-in offers, financing, bundle offers or pricing errors.

What is a "Web-exclusive offer?"
It is a product or a price that is only offered to online buyers.
They will match bestbuy.com according to their store policies. If they have a problem with it speak to a manager and point to the huge store policy sign by customer service at this section. Then have them pull up the page for "The Kingdom" and match the price. I didn't see anything on that page itself that said Web-exclusive offer.

You could also order it online and choose in-store pickup if you don't feel like arguing about it.

you were lied to. talk to a manager next time. tell them to stop wasting your valuable time. ask them whats the difference in them price matching or you ordering online with in-store pickup. NONE.

you were definitely the victim of one of best buys tactics, i had the same issue last week when i was buying a few 14.99 titles that were advertised online that came up as 24.99 at the register. what i was told was the guy at the register was not authorized to make those changes, which i though was probably the case since he looked pretty new, but he directed me to the customer service counter, and the girl there just adjusted the prices without even checking online to verify

guaranteed that the prices were not updated in best buys computers on purpose though, just in the hopes that consumers will maybe come in looking for the sale and be ready to buy, but when they do not ring up on sale, hope that they can still get you to pay full price since youre there and you were ready to buy whatever it was, they do some shady stuff there at the best buy

That's the easiest way to do it.

best buy will price match anything from their website and also alot of other websites. i was at target ready to buy the boune trilogy...on their website it was $65 and in store it was $80+ and they would not even match their own website....so i went to best buy and the price they had on their website was $80+, but i told them on targets site it was $65 and they matched it.
