Default Sony inspired by Erotic Art?

Whilst doing my usual Facebook checking I had an ad on the right for ARTundressed, a top level erotic art event that tours major cities around country.

Long story short... I ended up at their website www.artundressed.net and noticed a peculiar similarity between it and Sony's new 'wave with sparkles' animated thing in 3.0 firmware. Mind you, the erotic art guys have had this intro for a while now... quite a while apparently. I wonder who at Sony liked it?

There is nothing NSFW on the intro page so I figured it's okay to post it here; however, do not hit Enter unless you are into art.

I swear it is the spitting image of Sony's new look in that flash intro!

I'm not going to click the link because I'm at work...just in case. But the Sony wave thing has been around for quite a while. It was the background when the PSP launched for example.
Plus it's not like the idea is entirely original. Windows has very similar screen savers, etc.

Not saying you may not be right, but I think it's far more likely a coincidence.

I mean with the new animated sparkles and all that. Not just the wave. Hit it and see... it's totally safe intro screen. I promise. Just do not hit enter (though it really is just a bunch of art).

Nah, if my boss walked by seeing "Art undressed" or "Erotic" or whatever words are on there some unwanted questions might come up. I'll look when I get home. Depending on what meta-tags the site uses, I could also get flagged for searching inappropriate content.

I doubt Q-Games were inspired by the sparkles in that video.

Maybe the XMB™ designers moonlight as erotic artists!

The difference is that the 'waves' are more like smoke and the sparkles are not 'sparks', but like metal flakes.

EDIT:

Also according to the Playstation blog, its inspired by the movie Gattaca.

Quote:
Well, we’re behind the “star dust” and if you haven’t noticed it yet, you’re in for a nice surprise. We wanted to implement something like the beginning of the movie Gattaca but they wouldn’t let us go quite that far, so we settled on the subtle but pretty dust effect you can see now. If you shake the Wireless Controller, you can move them about a bit, as if they are being carried by eddies in the wind.

If erotic art inspired Sony to make anything, i'm pretty sure it's this:

And not the 3.0 backround....

All this sexual innuendo is making me sick about this thread. But it's just stupid coincidence, guys.

Good eye but that is actually from a stock footage library and has been used a lot. I have it in blue I believe.

LOL at the wand.
