Default Vizio VU42L HDMI problem

i ll try to explain this to my best capacity,

both hdmi inputs detect 1080p signal, but do not display anything,

the screen flashes between black and the 'no signal' blue screen every 2 seconds, but besides that, there is no video or audio whatsoever,

i tested this with my sony bdp-s300, ps3, and comcast hd reciever, and when i tested these devices with either component or av cables, it worked fine,

i have 2 different hdmi cables, and i did a switcheroo on all 3 devices, and on different inputs, and there was no difference in its behavior,

unfortunately the vizio is out of warranty, and i am trying to get this to work,

any and all help is very appreciated,

Sounds like both your HDMI inputs are defective. All I can say is get it serviced. I highly doubt its a problem you can fix yourself. Sux that its out of warranty

My friend had this same prob with his sammy lcd. He had unplugged his hdmi cable at too hard of an angle and broke off a couple of the prongs inside the input but i dont know what to tell you buddy except just to get it serviced

I would unplug the TV from the wall AC outlet for about 2 minutes and then plug it back in. This is like rebooting a computer, it will reboot your TV. If that does not work, look in the VIZIO menu and do a factory reset to erase all your settings and return the TV to factory setting. Some brands and models do not have a factory reset.

It's possible the VIZIO HDMI circuit board IC stopped working and the TV needs repaired. You might need to get an estimate on the repair cost.
