My family and I are currently living in an apartment, and I'm unable to use my full HT for viewing BDs. So I'm using my PS3 hooked up via component video to my SDTV as well as a HP laptop with BD-ROM Multi-Drive. Since the latter has a 16:9 viewing screen, it's my preferred method for viewing my Blus. On to the point of this post: In certain scenes featuring the Excelssior, the saucer support and some of the gridwork of the warp nacelles exhibit noise that I can only describe as moire. Is this actually how the transfer looks on a full 1080p display? Or is it the limitations of my laptop? I checked out the same scenes on the PS3, and the problem did not appear. However, I don't really trust that test since the TV is not HD, let alone 16:9. Appreciate any and all feedback.
