Default Any one else have the Samsung 3600? *Update*

I found it last week at bestbuy and went ahead and got it. It says it can stream music from your pc through a network sharing folder but I am having trouble doing that. Has anyone done this yet? I used to be really good with computers but that was before Vista... Other then figuring that out, its a nice upgrade from my samsung 1500. Oh and I am a newbie to this site.

Update:
They player is great but I would wait to purchase it until firmware is available. It has a tendency to not read blurays when you stick them in. It will either pop it back out or just stop loading it. To fix it you turn off the power and then turn it back on. It can get a little annoying but still seems to be a great player.

Default Samsung 3600

Four calls to tech support later, the unit does not do its wireless thing. I can connect without my firewall, but I'm not going to leave it off.

Samsung tech support scores point for being *nice*, but the product doesn't work as advertised. Taking it back to Best Buy tonight.

Default Samsung 3600 WiFi problem

I recently purchased this blu-ray recorder after much research on the internet. I would have to say that the WiFi connection was very cumbersome to connect to, and I never was able to connect in order to get netflix or pandora. After many hours of trying to get a connection, and calling samsung support, I decided to return the player to best buy. I exchanged it for the LG 390 blu-disc player. I plugged this player in and instantly was hooked up to Netflix. I could not belileve how easy it was. As much as I respect Samsung's HD tvs, I have no confidence in their blu-ray disc players. CNET reviews gave them the best rating for the price range. I think that if you buy this player, you will be totally frustrated trying to get it hooked up for the netfix feature. I would recommend that you look for another player if you want to use the WiFi feature

I don't know guys, I bought this player 3 weeks ago specifically to get Netflix streaming and Pandora and guess what, it took me about 5 minutes to get it hooked into my network and it's worked flawlessly since then. I've streamed 3-4 movies and have Pandora going every day. Not sure why so many others seem to have problems but I for one think this is a fine player.

I've been having some issues with a couple of titles on this player

Star Trek: Season 1
- The episodes tend to skip 'backwards' during the episodes. One minute I'm watching the episode, and 15 minutes in it will take me back 7 minutes. It does this about four times an episode.
- Sometimes the sound just doesn't come on when a new shot starts. It two whole seconds till the audio comes back when the scene starts.

Ghostbusters
- I can't navigate the menu at all. I can't highlight any of the buttons.

My experience has been that the ethernet updates come a few days after the download to flash drive or CD shows up on their website. What is this update? Playability issues?

I believe that is the case. I also heard somewhere that it was going to fix some issues with PC connect.

Default Firmware Update

You need to use the disc or flash drive method to do this update currently. I recommend the flash drive.

FOR THOSE PEOPLE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE FIRMWARE UPDATE USING THE FLASH DRIVE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU TRANSFER THE FILE TO THE FLASH DRIVE AND NOT THE FOLDER IT IS IN!

Make sure after you download the file to download the instructions and follow them carefully. The initial update must be done twice!

Default hosed?

Tried updating the firmware on-line (I got a message soon as I turned on the player if I wanted to upgrade). Accepted - downloaded - installed...now the unit freezes upon reboot. Just sits on loading with a blue background. Nothing else works.....

Default Firmware Update

I did mine using the USB with a flash drive. The update may have been put on the net after I tried to do it that way. The downloaded instructions say do it twice. So do that first. If no good, then try doing it with the flash drive.

Default Wireless connection problem with Samsung BD-P3600

I have a new Samsung BD-P3600 and a netgear wireless router. I have no problems with access via my laptops to the wireless network, but am unable to access the wireless networks via my blu ray player. I have disabled all encryption and can view the wireless network from the access point directory on the blu ray player. Any help with this problem would be much appreciated.

Has anyone told you that you need some type of adapter to get WiFi for the BD player you have? IMO, its pretty freakin stupid. Samsung wants people to spend more so they can make more. If you buy a Sony (they also have BD players that have WiFi but don't require an adapter), they'll treat you right.

Have you read the reviews,... or talked to Samsung tech or your router tech ? Just curious. Just read this also.

https://www.blu-ray.com/players/play...ow=userreviews

Sometimes it evidently takes a while to negotiate the connection,... doesn't say why.

The 3600 includes the adapter free.

+1...the 3600/4600 come with the wireless adaptor and builtin memory. The 1600 is the one without builtin memory and a wireless adaptor. I'd keep messing with the wifi. Make sure you have the right security type picked. I thought for sure mine was wep but it was one of the other ones...not to mention instead of the password it needed the security key (or was it the other way around?). Anyways it was a process setting it up but has worked great since.

I did not know that. I might look into it. Besides Sony and Samsung, do you know if there any Panasonic or Pioneer BD players that are WiFi?
