Default BD player or BD player and DVD player?

hey is it a good idea to have both BD and DVD players to play each format and play only BD's on the BD player to "save" the BD player. or does usage not matter? sorry if this is a silly question.

A while back I kind of worried about over-using my blu-ray player when playing both blus and dvd's, but have no worry, it doesn't really matter. I mean, look at people with PS3's. They play games all day AND watch blus on it. So no, no harm as far as I can tell and I use my PS3 for hours on end on a regular basis with no issues (*knocks on wood*)

I agree there is no need to have both, however it may be possible that one upconverts DVDs better than the other. Also, if you already have both, why not use them? That is why I have both in my system.

And my 60GB PS3 failed after playing ~50 BD movies and not the first game.
