All of you that are steaming, help me out here. I had been using some PoE adapters. They're Netgear XE103s. They're supposed to get up to 85Mbits/sec. I would have been expecting to get between 7-11Mbits/sec.
I had been using these for a computer that can't get a wireless signal and to get network to my 360. I had never had issues until now with the HTPC. So I checked to see that I'm getting for bandwidth and it comes to a little over 2Mbits/sec. So, anything 720p and above just doesn't work. Also, it took half the damn day for Media Browser to cache my music collection. I'm going to see if it's a cable issue or perhaps an issue with one of the boxes. However, could you guys give me some suggestions for what you're using to stream to your HTPC. I would love wired but that just isn't an option right now. As for wireless signal, my HP 6400 laptop is getting good wireless signal. I would prefer something that can be hooked into the switch so that everything can get signal from that so I can just retire the XE103. |
