Battlestar Galactica Gets New Packaging This April - Blu-ray Forum

Like the previous set, The Miniseries will be included on disc one, while Razor will be included on the 15th disc of the set. New to the set is The Plan, which will receive a disc all to itself (identical to the currently available standalone disc).

We are currently awaiting final packaging art, but we should have it soon enough and we’ll update accordingly.

Awesome news. Glad I waited. I wonder if Caprica will make it to Blu Ray? By the way is Caprica an ungoing series or a stand alone series?

only thing that is missing is The Plan and 2 bonus features from miniseries and season1 (which i hope they re-encode... but i doubt they will).

That's just a guess. The MSRP is $50 less than the original set, so it could be cheaper than that.

er back last summer (July-August) Deepdiscount was selling it for $140-150 delivered. i got mine @150 =).

yeah it doesn't have the plan, so what, buying that separately is still cheaper than what it is now

Glad to hear this news! I was planning on buying the existing set next week, but it goes without saying that I can wait another two months to get better packaging plus "The Plan." Now if only they would wise up and include the "Face of the Enemy" webisodes...

I'm pretty sure this is due to some sorts of rights issue with them being written as 'webisodes' - not sure about the details. I wouldn't count on it, but would be nice. AND for it to be correctly placed in the menu between the first 2 episodes of the second half of season 4, as opposed to on an extras disc or whatever...

I've seen BSG all before and was planning on getting it on BD from the UK (where I'm from) but will wait to see what this one's like. I'm actually in the minority in quite liking the UK tin in general (not just as a marginally better alternative to the US release) so will have to see what I think of this - hopefully it'll be better than both US and UK versions released thus far packaging wise, and retain the region-free-ness of the discs. I'm curious as to whether this new version will be released in the UK as well. The UK version still says 'limited edition' so maybe they will be replacing it with this new version as well?

The way it's worded, it sounds like all 4 individual box sets for season 1-4 will be in it. As in season 1 individual release style, or that horrid Cylon accordion box?

I really hope they learn from the first release and protects the discs ala the UK set.
