Default Acoustic Research ARRX15G

I purchased this remote in leiu of a Harmony remote and I gotta say "This is a GREAT product".

I know a lot of you out ther have the "Harmony Hard-On" and that is ok, but this remote kicks arse. This remote was less than half of the Harmony One. Here is a review I have written.

I did a lot of research before buying an advanced universal remote and I found this to be a decent option price wise and option wise. I have never owned a Harmony, and I am sure they are great remotes, but for the price, you can not beat this remote. I feel that it would be a waste of money to purchase a Harmony for $150+ when you could have this remote for half the price.

I found the on-board set up to be VERY simple. I had all of my components set up within 10 minutes, I even set up a laserdisc player by having the ARRX15G learn the buttons from the laserdiscs remote.

Then I hooked up the ARRX15G to the computer, and even though I had to go through the setup process again, I set up my family's favorites and MACROS. MACROS are many different functions with the touch of one button. (i.e. Turning on the TV, the cable box and surround sound to Watch TV, or Turning on TV, DVD and Surround sound to Watch DVD)

The button layout is fairly easy to learn and not "non-ergonomical". I would have loved to get the 18G and had a touch screen, but the price was a deal breaker.

I paid $70 dollars new for this remote at a Chain store, but it is well worth the $85 on Amazon at time of this review.

Only one "con" and not a deal breaker by any means is that it is not a rechargable remote. I will have to buy batteries for this unit.

All in all the ease-of-use and many options on this remote made it a "must buy" for me and anyone who wants to get rid of multiple remotes. This thing controls up to 15 devices including things like ceiling fans and Air Conditioners.

I hope this helps anyone looking for a cheaper option to the Harmony.
Thanks
