PS3 Fan replacement - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone on here have any experience with replacing a PS3 fan? I have a 60GB that keeps overheating b/c the fan stopped working and I have access to a YLOD 60GB to try swapping the fan....

well, I replaced my ps3 fan with a "whisper fan" and it did not fix a thing...

From everything I am seeing online it seems like the heat syncs are not doing their job telling the fan to even turn on. Seems like I have a pre-ylod ps3. I may send it to Gophermods. Anyone have any expierience with them?
