Speaker Risers - Blu-ray Forum

I just moved into a house with all tile floors. Obviously there is a lot of echo. Can anyone recommend where to buy speaker risers for towers?

Seeing I'm from Mich I will lend a hand

It would be very easy to just make them yourself. One member that I know of on here who made his own is Fors*.

I believe he also bought some from Aurelex. I'm sure he'll chime in here sooner or later.

For killing echo I also suggest an area rug and some heavy drapes if there are any windows. If you're in the market for any furniture to go in your new house something with alot of cushion would be in order as well. You may even be able to swing some nice acoustic panels like you would find here.

I think he is using that for his center but for his towers he made some DIY

Area rugs are already on the list, but drapes are a good idea over the blinds.

Hey Shultzy. Tough year for your Wings so far, huh? My Flyers aren't doing any better.

Anyway, I did build my own speaker risers. Auralex also makes SpeakerDudes and Isolation Pads if you don't want to build them yourself. There is one pic in my gallery that shows the "risers" under my towers if you want to check it out. Luckily, I bought new Paradigms over the weekend and they just fit the risers I had built for the Polks.

Yes, that is me Schultzy. I changed the name because most everyone called me Fors, so I went with that name (there was already a member with the name Fors, believe or not, so I had to add the asterick.) I have been watching as much as I can, but with a new kid this year running around (along with a 5 yr old) I have had a hard time keeping up. I am still mad with the Flyers about the whole Emery signing....

...what a bum!

And buying a new projector, and new speakers and another sub and thinking of a new amp is also time consuming

I hear ya! My 3yr old and 8 month old have significantly cut into my HT time. I had all kinds of HT improvement plans about 9 months ago, but they kreeping back up now...hence the riser question.

Moving is a huge task....and with little kids....forget it. I couldn't do it, no way. Congrats on the new house by the way. My son turns 1 on Thursday (3/11)....I can't believe a whole year went by.

Hey erict, no progress on the amp for me today....but that guy did PM me back about the Polks, and he may be interested. If I get the money for them, then the amp will be coming soon....

We haven't made the playoffs for so many years that perhaps we should apply to AHL. This year, we have a good chance of making the playoffs. For us, that is equivalent to winning the cup.

I was just teasing out of frustration with the Kings. This is one of those crazy years. At this time, any team can win the cup. The Wings, particularly the Super Swede defenseman, may have gotten a bit old.
