PS3 update 1.9 question - Blu-ray Forum

I was wondering if 1.9 included version 1.8 because i have 1.7 right now. Also i have seen in these threads that updating has caused some PS3's to be loud, is that true? I like how quiet mine is. Should I update from 1.7 to 1.9?

All updates include the changes in the prior updates. And I haven't noticed any difference in the noise from my PS3 since I updated to 1.9.

Updates are a great reason to own a ps3 instead of a stand alone player, no making discs for me please.
