OK I'm not sure how this works so maybe someone can help me. Every once in a while while I am watching a movie the picture will cut out for a second or two then come back in. It doesn't happen alot and I actually returned my first receiver because I thought it was a glitch. My ideas are that it could be an ocassional power drop out since I live in an old building or that on ocassion the system just loses the HDMI signal and has to catch back up to it. I am running a Sony BDP-360 through the receiver with a new HDMI cable I bought recently. Both the receiver and the BD-player are only a few months old. If I haven't explained myself good enough let me know and I will try to go into more detail. Please help me

I have a 919, same thing happens. Usually happens a few seconds after I power everyting up. I would say less than a minute after having receiver, bd and tv powered up. I think it's a handshake issue, I usually power everything up and do something else for a few minutes before I watch a movie. You can almost set your watch to it. Video goes black and comes right back - just like you're blinking. I am upgrading to an Elite sc 25 soon, I hope it does not do the same thing. I have a sony sxrd rptv and a sony bdp 360 and 550 - it does it with both players.

Thanks for the response. Your issue seems close but here is exactly what mine does. Once every couple of days about 30 to 45 minutes into watching something I get a quick blink of black. Then about 5 seconds later it goes black for a second or so and then comes back on. I have noticed that it seems to happen during off weather so it could be the power in my building. If anyone has any ideas or comments please let me know. It doesn't seem like a major issue since it's not that often but it does bug me enough to wonder if it's a problem. Like the previous poster said it may be an occassional handshake issue with the HDMI since my TV is Vizio, Player is Sony and Receiver is Pioneer. Any comments are welcome.

OP, I think yours is pretty much the same issue it just does it a little different. If it's not a constant problem and doesn't happen multiple times during a viewing I wouldn't worry about it too much. |
