Question Will Blu-ray have zones?

Will Blu-ray have the same or similar region coding (region 1, 2, 3, etc) and formatting (NTSC and PAL) as standard DVDs?

PAL and NTSC are old formats that don't support 1080 or 720.

Welcome to the forums.
Use the search function in the forums. This is an old question.
THere are 3 regions, but most Blu-ray discs are region free.

NTSC and PAL are standard definition formats and, although Blu-ray might release some things in SD or with SD content (such as extras), all HD content uses a different format that is universal, 1080p. No need to worry about compatibility except by region.

Thanks.
Zones are my big problem, since I live in Spain and America, and also collect films from Eastern Europe which to date have not been released in blu-ray anyway
