Fox is BD exclusive so far to my knowledge. but they haven't released anything on BD for a while, because of BD+. hopefully, by the time simpsons come out on DVD, the whole issue with fox is finalized, and we will see the release on BD.

i thought so. was chock full of jokes, spesh the first half. each time anyone opened their mouth it would be a joke.
only problem was it felt like it was over a good 20 mins before it should have been.

definitly worth watching i'd say. I'll gladly go again.
8/10 IMO

i'm not to fussed about seeing cartoons on BR
i dont see how it could be much better than DVD (what with there being solid lines and textureless colour already on the DVD)

Beleive it or not, there are animations out there (like Ghibli films and Ghost in the Shell, paprika, etc.) that have enough details and such to make it look much better on HDTV than SDTV.
But older animations from the 80's... not so much... Sure it will look better, but they weren't that good to begin with (for the most part).

I've never heard of any of those

but I'm talking more about the likes of the average simpsons/family guy/futurama episode - can you really see that sort of animation getting any clearer?

same goes for a lot of Disney movies (i'm talking about the likes of beauty and the beast and after)
the way they are drawn leaves little else to be cleaned up after SD-DVD

so far, it seems to depend on the viewer. personally, i see quite a difference. significant enough to upgrade to Bluray versions at least.

If you're cable or tv provider has HD channels, check them out when any piece of animation is airing.

honestly i don't understand why you asked this question. The movie doesn't hit theaters until the 27th. Why worry about a Blu release date?

I've heard a Dark Knight preview will show prior to the movie. Anyone else heard that? If so I'm going to go just to see the preview...

I beg to differ!

'Lady and the Tramp', 'Bambi', 'Pinocchio' and many more Disney classics would look quite amazing on Blu-ray because of the incredible details they put into these movies. 'Lady and the Tramp' look great on DVD, but will look even better on Blu-ray because of all the textures.

Because its an open forum and he like others are curious as to when a movie or if a movie will be available on BD. No harm in asking, is there?

Absolutely untrue. The beauty of handdrawn animation is in its flaws. The brushstrokes, the texture of the paper the background is drawn on. I saw Beauty &TB in IMAX, and as an animation fan it was a revelation!

Yes, IMO there is, because anyone who bothers to do the most basic of research would know that A- Video dates don't get announced until well after a movie has entered theaters, and B- Fox=Blu. I believe it's the responsibility of posters to do a familiarize themselves with the basics of a topic before joining a forum on it.

Which brings me to this point - whats the purpose of a message forum if people no longer post? How do you think it all started? Like I have mentioned to others, if it bothers so many people that this person did not search, dont post in the thread, don't read it and certainly don't respond to it.

I don't think he is hurting anyone and honestly don't think the admins care
