Default The Simpsons - Movie ..

just finished watching this,

very very dissapointed.

dont get me wrong, i am a huge simpsons fan,... but found most of the ideas, jokes, story, etc... just wasnt funny. There was the odd funny moment,.. and yes, the "spider pig" gag had been spoilt rotten before i even purchased the blu-ray disc.

i have laughed more within 2 mintues of a standard episode, more than i did during the whole of the movie.

my DVDSPOT - 2/5

EMPIRE summerise it perfectly:

"The message is just as clear with Simpsonian antics — if it ain’t broke, don’t make a movie…"

I agree 100%! The first like 15 minutes are my favorite, and then I just got horribly horribly bored with it. There'd be a few laughs here and there, but for the most part, I found myself asking "After 18 years, this is the movie you guys came up with?" I can sit down and watch the show for hours, but this 85 minute movie comes off as very boring and pointless.

They have to use new writers who have fresh ideas as well as jokes. Its time to hire Mike Judge to help out lmao

Spider pig...spider pig...does whatever a Spider pig does...can he swing...from a web...no, he can't...he's just a pig.

That part cracks me up every time, I don't know why.

I loved it.
Here's what DVDFILE.com had to say about it; "My suggestion is to find it used or on-sale to get it at a reasonable price. But regardless of the means, no self-respecting Simpsons fan can be without The Simpsons Movie."
Hi-Def Preview gave it a 4.5 out of 5 overall and a 5 out of 5 for picture quality; http://www.hidefpreview.com/Simpsons%20Movie%20BD.html
HighDefDiscNews.com also gave it a 4.5/5 overall and a 5/5 for pq; http://www.highdefdiscnews.com/?p=419
DVD Verdict gave it a 91 out of 100; http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/si...oviebluray.php

I'm not saying you're wrong, no movie is liked by all and clearly it didn't appeal to you. I am saying, however, that many people really liked it and that judging by the critical acclaim it received from every review site that I have bookmarked it obviously isn't a poorly done movie.

AQ/PQ are superb!

I liked the movie itself as well. I however, really appreciate each character as they have been developed over the years. I thought the movie presented each as they should have.

I really enjoyed it. when people complain about this movie, i always ask them, what they would have done differently. i wouldn't change anything. except it needed more milhouse and less of lisa's environmentalist boyfriend.

I liked it just fine. But the humor has changed, that's no doubt.

The movie itself is okay. I loved how they translated the animation from the tv show to the big screen. I thought everything looked great. The story dragged a little in the middle and there was a little too much slapstick for my tastes. I think they could have given bigger roles to some of the supporting characters. It wouldn't surprise me if the inevitable sequel is funnier.

I thought the movie was pretty good, but it needed more of the supporting characters that are so popular on the show. Personally, I would have liked to see more Groundskeeper Willie and Principal Skinner. Maybe in the sequel though.
