Default Ninja Assasin at Blockbuster

Okay now I'm really wondering what's up with Warner and Blockbuster. It says release date unknown. This is right on the heels of Where the Wild Things Are saying the same thing when that came out. I thought Warner was still distributing to Blockbuster on release date unlike Netflix and Redbox. Well the Blind Side is listed for next week on their site so maybe it's a different issue. Maybe Blockbuster is just having serious issues because they finally have Sorority Row but it's said available for over a week now and they send other stuff instead so maybe they don't really have it and Princess and the Frog says unknown as well.

Their service seems to be getting worse and worse although I am getting Armored today.

Blockbuster has always been quick and reliable for me. However, I have noticed a few "unknown" dates for Blu-ray releases pop up in the last month or so. Customer service told me they were working with distributors to get that resolved.

The way it's been going for big blue lately I'm not surprised they're having issues.

Yeah I think it's some problem with distributors. I have not had much of a problem either with BB online. But most of my queue now has some sort of wait with them. I did however wind up with Fourth Kind, Armored, and finally Sorority Row so I can't really complain this week. Just weird that they are having so many say unknown now.

i work at blockbuster and we got an email today saying that there was a delay on the shipping of 'ninja assassin' and 'astro boy'. we're not expected to get them until the weekend or possibly next week. we had the same problem with 'where the wild things are'. also at my store we're not supposed to be getting more than 20 dvd copies and 3 bluray copies, same with wild things. so since blockbuster has yet to do the 28 day thing with warner i guess we'll just be getting less copies and be getting them late.

I will say this, Warner is the absolute WORST studio when working with rental outlets. They HATE rental. It's funny how they try to screw the rental stores by forcing them to take rental sku's for their Blu-ray's (and DVD's) because they don't want to give them the free DVD's inside but if we were to go to Wal-mart and purchase them we would get the free DVD. Funny enough buying them at Wal-mart not only gives us a free DVD but the cost is about $3 cheaper.

Now that Netflix and Redbox has bent over backwards for Warner (giving them a 30 day window with no rental), Warner is more than likely putting pressure on Blockbuster. Once you have the big boys in line it's much easier to put pressure on the little fish.
