United Kingdom What films are you waiting to drop in price before you buy?

For me its Star Trek XI, I borrowed it and thought it was great and Ive been waiting for it to drop in price since, it went down to like £9.99 for a couple of hours on play.com but i was at work and missed out .

I usually buy films like this on release day but as ive already seen it and ive only had a blu ray player since xmas, I will carry on waiting.

Iron Man is one, still expensive and don't think it will drop what with Iron Man 2 coming this year. The recent Indiana Jones is another too.

Waiting for Thirst and 500 days of summer to drop, £16 is far to much for a blu.

Not too many, really; mainly stuff I've already got on DVD, but know would suit BD, or films that are not my thing, but would probably like....

Pirates Of The Caribbean 1-3, they're currently retailing between £17-22....
Transformers 1 + 2 ( but don't tell anyone )
X-Men 1-3

Yup I'd agree with these and Iron Man also 300 as although it's only a tenner it has been down to £8 and for some reason I can't bring myself to spend anymore than that amount on it.

Lost Season Box Sets (around £45 per series)
Cinderella Man
Eight Below
Taken
Horton Hears a Who (Was about £7 not too long, can't believe I didn't pick it up. It's gone back up to nearly £18 on Amazon and £23 on Play)
Iron Man

The Indiana Jones Blu-ray is £12 on Amazon for a 2 Disc set. Perhaps not as cheap as it could be now, but not too unreasonable IMO. I agree that nearly £18 for Iron Man still is ridiculous.

Was going to buy this £5 the other week on some special deal on Zavvi but my card kept getting declined, sucked to say the least.

Yeah, I think I'm more comfortable paying a tenner for it though, well at least for now, all this pre-ordering has drained me .

Indiana Jones is now £8.49 at dvd.co.uk:

Gah, can't believe 500 days of summer is still almost £17, 2 months after release.

'Quantum Of Solace'?...

But I'd say any title that is over like 10 pounds.
Only, then it also depends what kind of version it is.
If it's barebone or just standard, I won't pay more than 8-10 Pounds for it.
If it's some special edition, I might pay up to maybe 20 Pounds.
Also depends which film, how much I like it etc...

Indeed.

And like I pointed out somewhere else; 'Casino Royale', the nice Deluxe Edition, has been down to like 8 Pounds...

They're both by Sony aren't they? Or what's different that it's still expensive?

Iron Man
Survival of the Dead
Escape from L.A.
District 9
The Descent

to name but a few, I'm new to BD and am trying to replace DVD's and generally start a collection, so I am looking at stuff that is generally under a tenner (unless I really *must* have it).

(great site and forum BTW, very useful and informative to a new BD user/buyer)
