Downloadable HD Media for PS3 - Blu-ray Forum

This is my first post, so play nice...Also, I apologize if this has been posted already in a previous thread. I did a quick search and found nothing.

My question is, is it possible to download HD content off of the net, and convert to play on the PS3 (actually, I know this is possible I just don't know where and how to get the HD media)? I know that with one of the past firmware updates the PS3 can play certain HD media, but I have not been able to figure out how to do this. Please point me towards a link that can answer this for me. Of course downloading certain media is illegal, so I am asking a hypothetical question.

For instance, if I wanted to download the first episode of Weeds season 3, would it be possible to d/l the HD episode and convert it to play on the PS3 to view it in HD still? Please advise!

ok, i can see this post causing some arguments but i'll try and help you out.

I use a programme called Visual Hub (might be for mac only) to convert a lot of my stuff for PS3. I've got a 250 Hard Drive for the PS3 so i like to store all my movies and series on there.

As for HD content Look up Zudeo, it is used a lot for illegal downloading (you probably know this already) but it does have tons of legal material which you can get right from the App. (have a look you'll see what i mean). They have a lot of HD stuff.

Just for the record i don't endorse illegal downloads.

no worries, shame cause Macs rule! But anyway, Visual Hub has a setting which is set up perfectly for the PS3....its the Apple TV setting! Seriously!

Check out handbrake if you want to "back up" your DVDs to your PS3.
